Amy Morgan (she/they), a Trainee Clinical Psychologist at King’s College London, is seeking participants for a doctoral research project.
Their study aims to explore the support experiences of adult individuals who identify as LGBTQ+ and racially minoritized following sexual violence victimisation. It is hoped that this research can contribute to understanding the factors that are important when seeking support and potential barriers to seeking support. Participants will be asked to take part in a 60 minute online interview and will be reimbursed £25 as a thank you for their time.
What is the purpose of the study?
There has been a lack of research in the UK exploring the experiences of people who identify as LGBTQ+ and racially minoritized following sexual violence victimisation and how they are supported. The purpose of this study is to understand the support experiences of these individuals and to understand what factors are important when seeking support and potential barriers to seeking support.
You may participate in the study if you self-identify as:
- Being LGBTQ+
- Coming from a racially minoritised community in the United Kingdom (e.g. Arab, Asian, Black African, Black Caribbean, Latin American and Mixed/Multiple ethnic groups)
- Having experienced any form of sexual violence after the age of 16+ years.
This project has received ethical approval (KCL Ethics Ref: HR/DP-23/24-40051).
