Student Membership of the Centre for Transforming Sexuality & Gender (CTSG) is open to individuals at the University of Brighton who are either a postgraduate research (PGR) or postgraduate taught (PGT) student. Ideally your interests will be aligned with the research areas and activities within the Centre.

Benefits of Student Membership may include opportunities to:

  • connect with, and contribute to, the research culture of the CTSG and develop your research networks.
  • work collaboratively with CTSG members such as dissertation/thesis supervision, co-authorship on peer reviewed publications, leadership of workshops, seminars, and conferences, and developing potential new areas of research activity.
  • share your research/practice with CTSG members, and University of Brighton staff and students through the delivery of a talk, workshop, or exhibition (or other similar activity).
  • provide critical input into the running and strategic focus of the CTSG through PGR representation on the Management Board.
  • enhance your individual research profile and CV, strengthen applications for funding, and develop your publication track record etc.
  • meet other members from across and outside the University at our regular formal events and informal social events.

To Apply:

Please email us at CTSG@brighton.ac.uk and ensure that you have an up-to-date PURE profile (PGR students) which reflects your areas of research and interest. You may wish to discuss with your supervisor/course leader first but this is not a requirement.

Applications are considered on an on-going basis. Approval is made by the Centre’s Management Board. Any enquiries should be directed to the CTSG at CTSG@brighton.ac.uk

We look forward to receiving your application – thank you.
