Call for participants for GambLGBTQ+: a research project on gambling and LGBTQ+ communities.

GambLGBTQ+ is a research project seeking to understand gambling and related harms in LGBTQ+ communities. Research on LGBTQ+ gambling and gambling harms is limited, and the research that is available highlights the need for further research on the lived experiences of gambling for LGBTQ+ people and in particular those whose identities and backgrounds are minoritised and overlooked. The University of Brighton are leading on GambLGBTQ+ in collaboration with LGBT Switchboard Brighton & Hove and is funded by GambleAware. The research uses photovoice which means using photography to represent a topic or issue from your perspective and then discussing these photos in a group or 1-2-1 interview.

To participate you should be:

  • aged 18 or older
  • live in Brighton & Hove and the surrounding area
  • self-identify as LGBTQ+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or as having another minority sexual orientation or gender identity, or as intersex)
  • and have some experience of the harms associated with gambling (e.g. financial harms, emotional, health, well-being and/or relationship harms, and employment and housing insecurity).
  • AND are included in one or more of the following groups:
