Beyond the Waiting List: Creativity, Co-Production and Change in NHS Gender-Affirming Voice Care
This session shares learning from a collaborative project between NHS Speech and Language Therapists and Gender Outreach Workers, exploring how arts-based engagement and community involvement can support trans and non-binary people on long waiting lists for voice therapy. Drawing on a group project funded by Arts and Minds, we reflect on how creativity and conversation can open up access, strengthen relationships, and shape future service development. The session will also discuss how this work fits into a wider programme of public involvement and clinical research within NHS gender services, with a focus on making space for lived experience at every stage of the process.
Grace and Sophie will be joining us online, but we have a room booked in Mithras House (G5) for any CTSG members who wish to come together and watch their presentation in-person.
