Primary PGCE trainees SBT2

17 January 2024 – 26 March 2024 

In School Based Training 2 (SBT2) trainees will be in a different school/setting and in the alternative Key Stage to SBT1. The expectations for SBT2 build on those of SBT1. Initially, trainees lead group work and team-teach the whole class with the class teacher, but then weekly expectations steadily increase so that trainees are taking responsibility for the planning, teaching and assessment of the whole-class for approximately 50% of the time from week 4 onwards. During SBT2 trainees engage in a small-scale Professional Enquiry, helping them make the links between theory, policy and practice.
