Trainees and ECT Recruitment

Recruitment of Early Career Teachers and the Early Career Framework

Over 1/3 of our trainee teachers are recruited to work in one of the schools where they have undertaken their school based training and we have a 96.5% overall employment rate as trainees qualify.

Our partnership schools tell us year on year that hosting trainees helps their recruitment process, not least that SBTs are a ‘try before you buy’ opportunity.

We track our trainees in to their early careers and beyond, providing dedicated support through online resources, remote support and where possible, face-to-face events.

We are currently developing an area to support schools and mentors with the Early Career Framework. At the moment we are busy collating resources and will curate these on our website. We will also be setting up online communities and other relevant support.

We support recruitment for our partnership by providing a free and easy to use 3 step method of promoting vacancies to our cohort about to qualify.

How to post free adverts on our Early Career Teacher blog:

Step 1 EITHER find a link to the vacancy on your school website or local authority site. OR find a single document (Word or pdf) with the advert on it.
Step 2 Attach the link or the single document to an email and send to EarlyCareerTeachers@brighton.ac.uk (you don’t need to add any more detail).
Step 3 We will post the advert on our vacancies blog as soon as we receive it, and remove it on the closing date (please let us know if you want an extension).

We will assist schools to recruit to posts and are available to contact all year round, including throughout the summer.

You can make contact via the Partnership Office team at educationplacements@brighton.ac.uk  Do get in touch!
