Hayley Scott is a Lecturer in Occupational Therapy and PhD candidate at Federation University. Hayley has over 10 years clinical experience working as a Senior Occupational Therapist in a large public hospital within inpatient and outpatient settings. Her passion and expertise are working within rehabilitation settings to help clients achieve their occupational goals and improve their overall health and well-being. Her research areas of interest are driving, community mobility and adult rehabilitation

The Role and Impact of Occupational Therapy for COVID-19 Inpatients Requiring Rehabilitation

 

Session details

The main aim of this presentation is to share findings and experiences of the role occupational therapists played when working with patients following a COVID-19 diagnoses during the global pandemic. We’ll share the broad range of interventions that inpatient rehabilitation occupational therapists provided showcasing our holistic and unique role and also the impact we had through quotes of patients’ experiences. This presentation will hopefully demonstrate the importance of remaining occupation-based and how meaningful occupation can truly impact on patients’ overall health and well-being.
