A smiling Lynne who is wearing a bright pink jumperLynne has recently retired from senior leadership in primary education. She was always keen to work with trainee teachers in her school and has much experience in supporting teaching training positively over many years. She has been a University Tutor at Brighton for two years and absolutely loves the challenges and rewards the role brings. She particularly enjoys supporting students with practical suggestions and support and helping them to develop confidence and self-belief.

In her teaching career of 25 years, Lynne taught across the primary phase from the reception year to Year 6 and led a variety of subjects. Lynne was Deputy Head for several years then Head of School then Acting Headteacher at a large primary school before retiring.  Throughout her time in senior leadership, she always made sure that she taught various age groups and subjects on a regular basis in order to keep in touch with classroom practice on a personal level. She is passionate about ensuring all subjects are taught to a high standard and promoted cross-curricular links wherever practicable. Her absolute aim has always been to ensure all children achieve to the best of their ability, that they are happy, valued, and enjoy engaging learning.

Lynne recently joined the governing body of a local primary school and is now Chair of Governors there. She really enjoys working with staff and pupils at the school. This role also keeps her very up to date with the challenges, training and developments that schools and teachers face. She is really keen to make sure that children receive the best education possible but also that teacher workload is productive but sustainable and well-balanced.
