ITT Core Content Framework

What is it?

The ITTCCF defines in detail the minimum entitlement of all trainee teachers. Drawing on the best available evidence, it sets out the content that ITT providers and their partnerships must draw upon when designing and delivering their ITT curriculum and programmes. It places a duty on providers of initial teacher training – and their partner schools – to meet this entitlement.

The ITTCCF has been designed to support student teacher development in five core areas – behaviour managementpedagogy, curriculum, assessment and professional behaviours.

It is designed in the knowledge that the quality of teaching is the most important factor in improving outcomes for pupils. The ITT Core Content Framework and the Early Career Framework together establish a three-year structured package of support for future teachers.
