Finally we have finished our LookBook!! It has been a long process and has been a little frustrating at times. But over all I am quite pleased with how it has all turned out! There are things I would change but its all a learning experience and I’m overall happy with what I have achieved.

contact sheet
After we had chosen the best images to be used for our final piece, I created a contact sheet with the images I used in my final work. I did this by using photoshop, the process was: file – Automate- Contact sheet then clicking on the photos that I wanted. Photoshop then created the contact sheet for me.
Editing the images
We then started to edit the images. We thought the head shots from our test run were so good that we wanted to use them in our final pieces. We really liked the idea of either drawing the buildings or putting them into the images, and then extending the lines onto the model. This created a different kind of Fashion look that we both really liked.I used Photoshop to create these looks I also experimented with tools such as the line tool and the clone tool.
Photoshoot
Next it was time for our final shoot, we used the same backdrop was we did for our test shoot and the same hair and make up. We got the model to use her body to represent the buildings and the even got her using props to create odd angles that we could photoshop later. Over all I am happy with the Images that we produced and some of them even look professional! Next we will start editing our photographs and seeing what we can create.
Final Mood Boards
These are the final Mood Boards;
Test shoot
Today we have done our test shoot. We decided that we would shoot our model in a photography studio so we could get really clean shots and see what looks worked the best. We had to learn how to set up a shoot and were very proud of what we achieved as we had no help and have never done anything like this before.
We used the shoot not only to practice setting up the set but to test the make up and hair looks.We used inspiration we had got from our mood boards and came up with the idea of using gems on her eyebrows and wire round here neck for a futuristic modern look. We had a lot of fun and were really happy with the results that we achieved. We have both agreed that shooting in a studio had such a strong impact and loved the outcome of the photos. That we will use a studio to get our final images instead of shooting on location.
Start of Mood Boards
After London we started to make our mood boards. We have started two so far, one being our Photography board where we put our photos from London and where we will put our test shoots when we do them. Our second board is our Styling board this is where we have put make -up, poses and clothes ideas of what we might use on final shoot. I’m quite proud of our work so far and think our ideas are staring to come together. We will next test make up looks and prepare for our test shoots.
Trip to London
We went up to London to help us get inspiration for our current module. Even though the weather was awful we had a really nice time. We went all around London and took loads of photos of buildings. We loved how big and dominating they were and loved all the shapes they made. Our favourite one’s were the Shard, The gherkin and the barbican. I loved the urban flats and buildings as well and the clean modern glass buildings. We came up with the idea of using a model to represent the buildings and creating something very minimal and futuristic. These are a few of my favourite pictures;
Fashion Photography and Styling
For our next module we are doing Photography and styling. We are in pairs and have to create a 6 page double spread Lookbook for a magazine. We decided that we want to get out of Brighton to try and help us come up with in idea. So we have booked a trip to London !
