Michael Gildea

Michael has worked in schools for over 25 years.

He has experience as a curriculum coordinator in Devon, Croydon and Surrey, leading on Assessment, Mathematics, English and PE and was a Deputy Headteacher for 6 years before becoming West Sussex Headteacher 13 years ago. He has been a Placement Tutor for the last 5 years and his school is one of Brighton’s partner schools.

He is passionate about professional development and is most proud of how the teachers and children in his school develop in a culture that values everyone as learners.

He holds his NPQH, provides support for other schools, and values spending time with the pupils above anything else.
