Gillian Davies has been a University Tutor for five years.

a smiling photo of Gillian who has red hairShe thoroughly enjoys meeting trainees and seeing their enthusiasm and love of learning in their teaching. Gillian became a primary school teacher as a second career, taking her PGCE at Brighton University. Here she met the inspirational Kevin Fossey and couldn’t believe her luck when she ended up working with him at her first school.

Gillian has worked in Brighton primary schools, teaching through forms one to six, and spent 11 years being the lead on science. She now works one day a week, teaching with and supporting NQTs. She continues to teach beyond a reasonable retirement age because she loves it still.

Prior to teaching, Gillian spent 20 years in the voluntary housing and charitable sectors, working with single homeless people, raising funds for housing and care projects and editing a magazine for a national fostering organisation.

Gillian will always enter a school with a smile on her face.
