Deadline for university hardship funds

The university has a number of different funds to help students who are facing financial difficulties. To date, we have spent  direct to students from the main funds this academic year.

The main Student Support Fund is open throughout the whole academic year to all Home fee paying students, both undergraduate and postgraduate. The closing date for final year applications has already gone, but we are still accepting applications from continuing undergraduate and postgraduate students until Friday 10th June 2022. EU nationals with settled status can also apply to this fund.

Undergraduates should apply online and postgraduates need to download the application. We do recommend you read the guidance before applying and make sure you have all of the required supporting evidence to hand as this will need to be uploaded as attachments.

If you are an International or EU students with pre settled status we also have funds for you, so please check the full list.

The assessment process can take up to 28 days once we have received your complete application and we may still require further information from you. Please keep a close eye on your uni email account as this is how we will communicate with you.

If you are not able to apply by the deadline, don’t worry – we will have a Summer Fund for students in most need and unable to work over the long vacation and the Student Support Fund 22/23 will open in September 2022 for the next academic year.

If you have any questions before you make an application or you want to talk to an Adviser, please contact us by phone: 01273 642888 or email us: studentadvice@brighton.ac.uk. We can also make an appointment to meet you in person or over Teams, whichever suits you best.

Best wishes
