Booking A Lab Space

University of Brighton students and staff can book the spaces within the HSS Labs for meetings, events & research. University of Brighton HSS students and staff can find out more about how to book a lab space on our Booking a Lab Space SharePoint page. The TeamUp booking link for the below spaces can also be found on the Booking a Lab Space page:

  • Life Lab (Mithras 114), Larger, more naturalistic environment – for focus groups and child research.
  • City Lab (Rooms 115-120)
    • Please note that the kitchen is part of the City Lab and is not accessible when the City Lab is occupied (This will be indicated by a sign on the door).

  • VR & Eye Tracking Room (Room 122)Larger space – for VR, eye-tracking and psychophysiological research, as well as focus groups. (Please note that due to BPS requirements, psychology students and staff have priority use of the VR & Eye-Tracking Room and bookings may be restricted between September and June.)
  • Design Lab (Room 111), can be booked by emailing HSSLabs@brighton.ac.uk.
  • Booth 123A (Larger booth – for EEG, eye-tracking and psychophysiological research)
  • Room 134, Relaxed meting space with armchairs and sofas.

If you would like to book one of these rooms, please email the Psychology Lab at HSSpsychlab@brighton.ac.uk, giving as much notice as possible (at least one day in advance). In your request, please include details of when you would like the room and the equipment that you will require in there (If applicable).

The Community Lab (Room 121) – Must be booked via Room Bookings Central

Booth Rooms:

The Lab has 8 booth spaces, 2 of which are wheelchair accessible (123A & 123B), which are located within the Stats Lab (Room 123). (Please note that Booth rooms 123C, 123D, 123E & 123F will not be available to book outside of SONA between mid January – April, as these rooms will be booked for psychological research during this period).

Please note:

  • When booking a room for research, make sure to account for time either side of your participant’s timeslot to set up and tidy away the space.
  • Rooms are subject to availability, so try and book them in advance, and we will do our best to accommodate you.
  • If you wish to cancel a room booking, please let us know as soon as possible.
