The Centre for Applied Philosophy, Politics, and Ethics is pleased to introduce one of our visiting doctoral students Luca Zaidan, who is joining us through the 25-26 academic year.

 

Bio

Luca Zaidan is pursuing a PhD in Social Sciences at the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina.

He is visiting the Centre for Applied Philosophy, Politics and Ethics (CAPPE) at the University of Brighton from September to December, 2025, in order to conduct some research on the theoretical relationship between the philosophy of Louis Althusser and the political theory of Ernesto Laclau, under Mark Devenney’s supervision.

He is a member of the Area of Political Theory at the Gino Germani Institute for Social Research (IIGG-UBA) in Argentina. His general research interests are centred on the relationship between Marxist and Post-Marxist political thought.
