Congratulations to our staff award winners

Last month, the ‘student wellbeing in the curriculum’ award winners within the School of Business and Law were announced by the school’s Teaching and Learning Lead – senior lecturer, Sarah Cork.

Certificates were presented by Dean of the School of Business and Law – Toni Hilton, at the end-of-year social lunch for colleagues from across the school.

There were five £100 staff wellbeing awards to be won, with entries judged by a panel of wellbeing and Learning and Teaching Hub colleagues and students.

Award winners

  1. Liz Hawkins, course leader on Marketing Management BSc
“This is somebody who has taken on a new role as a course leader and really supported students, gone above and beyond in providing extra academic support. [Liz] has been really thinking about how to take a system-wide approach to learning,” said Sarah at the presentation.

  2. Clare Forder, senior lecturer who teaches on our foundation and business courses
“This person was nominated for embedding support via a wellbeing module, providing students with targeted support on their student journey,” said Sarah. “[Clare’s] pre-course diagnostics allowed students to understand where they’re at before the course and tailoring assessments on the module meant students could build confidence over time.”

  5. Joint win between Sue Ridley – senior lecturer for her work as a personal tutor, and Stuart Bullen – the school’s Student Support and Guidance Tutor
“This is a shared award, awarded to Sue Ridley for the work she’s done as a personal tutor and making sure every student is supported, and Stuart Bullen who does his job in a particular way that is incredible,” said Sarah.

Congratulations to everyone who won an award, and a huge thank you to Sarah for continuing to champion wellbeing in the School of Business and Law.
