Your student life

As a Brighton student you’ll have the opportunity to shape your learning through new experiences, skills and connections.

Student stories

Our law students give a genuine view of what it’s like to study here.

Find out more about life in the School of Business and Law at the University of Brighton from some of our students and graduates.

  • We encourage entrepreneurship in all our students, through modules and our business support service, Beepurple. Three of our Business Management BSc students successfully launched their own business and app, Uniimarket – a buy and sell platform for peers at uni.
  • As part of our International Event Management BSc degree, students take part in live client projects, allowing them to manage real-life events and support businesses in event promotion. A group of our students organised and ran a successful fundraising event for Chestnut Tree House Children’s Hospice, raising more than £800.
  • Find out about Tsun Lam’s experience as an Accounting and Finance BSc student.
  • Through our pro-bono legal clinic, a team of three law students Sarah Khaddar (PgDip Law), Jasmine Hale (LLM Law Conversion) and Sinead Gallagher (LLB Law) successfully provided legal advice on how residents could lawfully protest and save trees during the Covid-19 pandemic, while government restrictions were in place.

Your students’ union

There are academic student societies in your subject area that you will be able to join. Please note, you may need to register to view the society’s details.

These are just three of more than 100 student-led societies you can get involved in. Joining a society is a great way to meet like-minded people, make new friends and learn new skills. Visit the SU homepage to find out more.
