About us
Formerly part of the Brighton Technical College, we have been delivering business and management courses since the 1960s.
Today, as the School of Business and Law for the University of Brighton, we teach, research and consult on a range of topics including business, change, entrepreneurship, human resources, tourism, marketing and law.
We have two main areas as part of our school; Brighton Business School, which focuses on Management, Business, Marketing, Accounting, Finance, tourism, Events and economics; and Brighton Law School, which teaches and researches in the subject areas associated with Law.

Everything we do is driven by what our students tell us is important to them and by our institutional values – inclusivity, sustainability, creativity and partnership.
Our vision
To be renowned for making a real difference to people, practice and society.
Our mission
To advance, support and shape responsible enterprise for a fairer society through education, research, collaboration and thought leadership.
Preparing you for your career
We work closely with professional bodies and organisations to design career-focused courses that allow students the opportunity to practically apply their knowledge, whether studying at an undergraduate, postgraduate or executive level.
We are proud to be recognised as one of the UK’s top five universities for the impact of our research into business and management, influencing policy and making a difference to society.
We are signatories to PRME, a United Nations initiative to raise the importance of sustainability amongst business students globally. All our courses are designed to prepare students with the understanding and ability to deliver change tomorrow within the context of responsible business.
We are also working towards full accreditation from the AACSB – the world’s largest business education alliance, connecting educators, learners and business to create the next generation of leaders.
Informed by our insightful research, we also provide a range of business services from tailored courses to consultancy – helping organisations develop their people and grow their business.
