Student Advice Service – Money Matters

News from the Student Advice Service at the University of Brighton

Hardship funds available for the summer

The Student Advice Service has some funds available to assist students in financial difficulty over the long summer vacation. The fund will be open for a limited period until 4th July 2014 only.

Awards will come in the form of one-off non repayable grants payable in mid-late July and assessments will be considered on an individual basis.

The Sumer Fund is only open to undergraduate full time students not undertaking an NHS funded course or BSMS 3rd and 4th years. This is because these groups of students and postgraduates can continue to apply to the Access to Learning Fund until 27th June 2014.

If you are unable to work over the summer vaction due to health problems or caring responsibilities you may be eligble to apply. Likewise, students who anticipate they will have compulsory study commitments over the summer which may incur additional costs eg course extensions, re-sits, repeat submissions, unpaid compulsory placement may also be eligible to apply.

If you fall into one of these categories, or you have exceptional unforeseen circumstances and you wish to make further enquiries you should contact the Student Advice Service for more information and an application form.

Please contact us by phone 01273 642888 or email accessfund@brighton.ac.uk with your full contact details and student number.
