Important deadlines for university funding
The university has a number of different funds to help students who are facing financial difficulties. To date, we have spent £540,000 direct to students from the main funds this academic year, which does not include the additional awards we have made from the Office for Students funding. The main Student Support Fund is open throughout the whole academic year to all Home fee paying students, both undergraduate and postgraduate. The closing date for final year applications has already gone, but we are still accepting applications from continuing undergraduate and postgraduate students until Friday 11th June 2021.
Undergraduates should apply online and Home postgraduates need to download the application and all applications need to be accompanied by supporting documents.
If you are an International or EU students we also have funds for you, so please check the full list and apply for the most applicable fund.
We do recommend you read the guidance before applying as this will help you have the best chance of making a successful application.
The application process can take up to 28 days once we have received your complete application and we may still require further information from you. Please keep a close eye on your uni email account as this is how we will communicate with you.
If you are not able to apply by the deadline, don’t worry – we will have a Summer Fund for students in most need and unable to work over the long vacation and the Student Support Fund 21/22 will open in early September 2021 for the next academic year.
If you have any questions before you make an application or you want to talk to an Adviser, please contact us by email studentadvice@brighton.ac.uk. If you want to have a proper conversation, we can Teams call you or use a telephone, so please let us know.
Are you struggling with wifi or data access at home? The Broadband Access Fund is still open until Thursday 10th June
