Going to London, or anywhere? Keep your mobile phone safe

This isn’t a typical money blog message but having very recently seen this happen on a main road in London with my own eyes I felt compelled to share the warning.

There are moped/motorcyclists cruising the streets looking for unsuspecting victims either listening to music on their phones or just scrolling/texting. The next thing you know, they’ve swiped your phone and sped off. In the incident I witnessed, they mounted the pavement and swiped the pedestrian’s phone as she was pressing an intercom, phone in hand.

It’s obviously a thing, as the metro reports here. Look after your valuables.
