Guest lecture: How to plan a PR campaign
A few weeks ago our students were lucky enough to attend a guest lecture on planning a PR campaign.
Flo Powell, joint Managing Director at award-winning B2B PR agency Midnight Communications, was kind enough to speak to our business entrepreneurship students about how to plan and execute a PR campaign.
Flo’s key tip for our students competing at the upcoming Tiger’s Pen competition? “My biggest take away for the students was to make sure they know their target audience, that they’ve defined it properly and come up with some PR and marketing tactics that go beyond social media.”
Lecturer in Entrepreneurship and Strategy, Dr Julian Riano, noted that Flo’s key advice for students preparing business plans and presentations was to understand who their audience is and how they were going to reach them.
The annual Tiger’s Pen competition takes place in December this year, giving our business students a unique opportunity to practise their business pitch and get valuable feedback from local business leaders.
The concept was founded by Sonny Cutting from the Sussex Business Show, who each year dedicates his time to hosting the event with the School of Business and Law.
We look forward to inviting Flo and the other tigers back to Elm House next month!
