Students feeling Christmassy in Winchester
International Tourism Management and International Event Management undergraduate students recently visited Winchester Cathedral and Winchester Christmas Market as part of their Belong at Brighton experience, which they missed out on in their first year due to Covid restrictions.
The event was organised to allow the students to see event and tourism activities first hand.
Amy, International Event Management said “seeing an event in real life gave me a chance to apply all the theoretical side of the course to an actual event. Experiencing the event in person allowed a deeper understanding of these concepts we learn about.”
Ellie, International Event Management said: “One thing we noticed about the Christmas Market was how well it was set out from an event design perspective. The flow of the market ensured you visited all the stands, and the centre in the middle created a community feeling.”
Beside the learning that took place some of our students took the opportunity to purchase Christmas gifts. The day ended in a very festive way as all the students sang Christmas songs on the coach back to Brighton.
