You asked us to ensure that Hastings-based resources and media production equipment are not negatively impacted by the move of courses to Brighton. Your course leaders and teaching teams are working closely with the technical teams to monitor equipment, your resource needs and distribution, to ensure that you have appropriate access to equipment at all times.

A greater sense of community
You asked for more opportunities to meet each other at the beginning of your degree and for our support in developing a greater sense of student community. Course teams across our Hastings and Brighton campuses are offering a range of introductory social gathering and introduction opportunities for first year students as well as festive and seasonal socials, alongside field trips across all levels. We also re-launched the Secret Cine Club and offer other events open to all media students, such as ‘Media Wednesdays’.
Supporting you through feedback
You told us what you find helpful in terms of assessment feedback at different levels of study. We have subsequently developed feedback guidelines for all staff, to take into account what works best for you individually, helping to develop your confidence and support your ongoing progress.
Accessing your timetable
You told us that some of you struggled to get to grips with and access your online timetables. We will include a simple introduction to using your timetables in the ‘Hit the Ground Running’ module, a pre-start module for new media students arriving at University. We will also include instruction sessions during induction week, to help create a smoother transition into university life.
