Changemaker Challenge

Date – Tuesday 3rd December

Students are invited to take part in the Changemaker Challenge as part of Global Challenges week. This is a one-day event where students will work in interdisciplinary groups to explore approaches and solutions to real world challenges. A brief will be set for each of the four Global Challenges and students will work collaboratively in their groups to address one of the four briefs. Academics and experts will be on hand to share their views and help students apply their skills and knowledge to address their brief. In the afternoon students will present their ideas to an external panel including business, community and alumni partners. At the end of the day a £500 first place prize will be awarded to the group who have successfully worked towards their brief and £250 for second prize. All students who take part will receive a digital certificate.

Why should I take part?

The Changemaker Challenge is an exciting opportunity to do something outside of your degree that enhances both your time at the university and your employability prospects. You will further develop your transferable skills including teamwork, presentation skills and time management, whilst working collaboratively with your peers from across the university. The Challenge is designed in a way so that there is no requirement for previous knowledge or understanding of the topic.
