Global Challenges Week Awards

The Global Challenges Week takes place between the 2nd and the 6th of December. At the end of this week we will recognise the contribution of  students and staff to addressing the major challenges faced by our planet. This is an opportunity for you to nominate students and staff who actively engage with making positive change. Each nomination should show how one or more of these four challenges are addressed:
  • Creative Sustainable Economies
  • Wellbeing
  • Equality and Inclusivity
  • Climate Change

Awards:

BSU Student Society Contribution Award (£250)                                                        Award recognising a BSU societies work to address major Global Challenges. Nominated societies must be recognised and registered as societies with the BSU. The award will be transferred to the BSU Society account.

Prize – £250

Individual Student Award                                                                                               Award for ongoing or recent student work with impact at a local, regional, national or international level that tackles one of the Global Challenges themes of wellbeing, equality and inclusivity, climate change or creative and sustainable economies. A winner will be announced for each of the categories on Friday 6th December.

Prize – £150 to winner and two prizes of £50

CORE or Research Group Contribution Award                                                            Award for CORE or Research Group whose work successfully addresses the Global Challenges. Prize may be used to continue work on the projects recognised.

Prize – £250 contribution to GC related project expenses

Module Lead whose Research Informed Teaching that best addresses the Global Challenges Award                                                                                                            Award for the module that prepares students with the skills and values to address the Global Challenges drawing upon the most recent research/staff research, (one winner announced for each Global Challenges category).

Prize – £100 book voucher

Individual Staff Members Award                                                                                  Award for staff whose work actively addresses one or more of the Global Challenges in Professional Services, Teaching and/or Research. (Nomination in all four GC Areas; three from each area invited to GC prize event where winners are announced.)

Prize – £50 book vouchers for winners

University Research Project Award                                                                              Award for a funded research project, receiving either internal (School of University) or external funding that works to address the Global Challenges.

Where: In person in Room 313 Watts, Moulsecoomb campus and on Teams.
