CMI Diploma in Management and Leadership

We have a long-standing relationship with many professional bodies who accredit our courses, providing membership, resources and access to networking events for our students, and in most cases, exemptions from some professional papers.

For our Business Management students, we work closely with the Chartered Management Institute (CMI). Successful students will graduate with their degree, a year’s work experience and a CMI Level 5 Diploma in Management and Leadership.

Which courses gain the CMI Level 5 Diploma?

All of our Business Management courses, including the ‘with’ specialisms, have the opportunity to gain this additional qualification. The courses are:

What is a CMI Level 5 qualification?

The Level 5 qualifications in Management and Leadership are designed for practising middle managers and those aspiring to senior management who want to develop their core management skills such as managing resources, recruitment and information management. These qualifications focus on the personal development of the individual learner’s management capabilities and competencies.

The CMI Level 5 Diploma in Management and Leadership, which is the award that Business Management students would achieve, is the benchmark qualification for full CMI membership, taking you another step towards Chartered Manager status.

How is it assessed?

Assessment is via a practical work-based assignment in your final year. This project is normally based on your third-year placement.

CMI membership

After your placement year, you will be given CMI membership, including access to their portal, Management Direct, which contains a wealth of resources from careers advice; access to journals and reports; templates and personal development material.
