Coptic Variations

Tutorial for binding single sheets together.

This works best when the single pages are quite stiff so heavy weight paper, cardboard, thin ply board and so on.

Coptic Headbands

This tutorial will show you how to stitch a decorative and structurally reinforcing end band, Coptic style. An end band is stitched at the head and tail of the spine to make this part of the book stronger. Use circular or straight needles.

Sewing with two needles to get a more attractive chain stitch at each sewing station. It can be complicated on larger books where you might have six or eight needles, but with patience can be done.
