Fighting to stop redundancies – ballot result
We are pleased to announce that the result of our consultative e-ballot on whether to escalate the dispute with the University over the threat of compulsory redundancies was 89% in favour on a 65% turnout. Thanks to everyone who voted.
This is an excellent result which means that we will now move ahead with an industrial action ballot. This will be a postal ballot as required by law.
The result of Unison’s consultative ballot will be known in a few days. We hope it is also positive so that our unions can jointly send a message to University management that we will not tolerate compulsory redundancies of our colleagues.
