Strike action over the Four Fights

On 27 January UCU General Secretary, Jo Grady, announced the strike days for our Higher Education disputes. https://www.ucu.org.uk/article/12072/Strike-dates-in-Four-Fights-and-USS-disputes

For our Four Fights dispute, the strike days are 21st and 22nd February, followed by 28th February, 1st and 2nd March. The last of those dates coincides with the NUS’s Student Strike For Education, giving us the opportunity to organise joint action with our students against the marketisation of higher education. There’s also a possibility that we will again be joined on strike by our colleagues in Unison. We will hold branch meetings soon to organise our action on these days.

Members are entitled to claim from the UCU Fighting Fund for December’s strike action. Brighton UCU also has a hardship fund. Donations to the Brighton fund can be made here. If you would like to claim from the fund, please contact Christian Hogsbjerg, Brighton UCU Treasurer.
