Wellbeing Week 13-17 November
Wellbeing Week is packed with useful resources and fun social activities to support good mental health and wellbeing at university. We have 7 themes as part of Wellbeing Week, drawing on the factors that can impact and contribute to good wellbeing as a student, check out the full list of events below:
Emotional wellbeing
SSGT stands:
Student Support and Guidance tutors (SSGTs) are on hand to support you with any issues impacting your studies, wellbeing and your experience with us, they can also refer you to other specialist wellbeing services – drop by and say hello to them:
- Mithras House, Moulsecoomb campus – Monday 13 November, 12-2pm
- Cockcroft outside Book & Bean, Moulsecoomb campus – Tuesday 14 November, 12-2pm
- Grand Parade, City campus, 12-2pm café – Thursday 14 November, 12-2pm

Academic wellbeing
Disability and Dyslexia Team, drop in Sessions
- Falmer, Student Centre Checkland, Block E – Tuesday 14 November 10am-12pm and Friday 10am-12pm
- Eastbourne, Trevin Towers Student Centre – Wednesday 15 November 12-1pm
- Moulsecoomb, Aldrich Library Skills Hub room – Wednesday 15 November 1-3pm
- City Campus, Student Centre, Grand Parade – Monday – Friday 12-1pm (except Wednesdays)
Physical wellbeing
- Panthers Play – a diverse social sports programme at the university with activities from boxingto dance, £2 per activity except Bouldering £4.20, see the full programme.
- Sport Brighton ice skating – Tuesday 14 November, 7pm Royal Pavilion, booking is required, tickets cost just £6 (retail £18), reserved exclusively for University of Brighton students.
Social wellbeing
- Falmer campus community social, The Hive – Thursday 16 November, 12-2pm. Drop into the Hive for a chance to do some figure drawing, chat to other students and have free hot drinks and snacks!
- BSU Give it a go: Mindfulness and colouring – all campuses, Friday 24 November 2-4pm. Pick up some colouring pencils and relax with a selection of mindfulness colouring books. Moulescoomb – Basement Central, Cockcroft building, City Campus – Grand Parade cafe, Falmer – Student Common Room (Adjacent to the Hive), Eastbourne Book and Bean Cafe – Greynore building
- Chatty table, Elm House cafe, Moulsecoomb – all week. Look out for the ‘chatty table’ in Elm House cafe, if you want to make some new friends or talk to some new people, this is the table to visit.
- Happiness wall, Elm House, Mouslecoomb campus – all week. In the entrance to Elm House, share your happiness tips, or things that bring you joy!
- Parent and Mature student lead event (bring your children) – 29 November 4pm-7pm, Falmer, Checkland, Asa Briggs – C1222. Network, bouncy castle, face painting, bowling and more. Book your tickets.
Environmental wellbeing
- Walk My Dog Moulsecoomb, Wednesday 15 November 1pm-2pm, meet outside Manor House lawns before 1pm.
- Walk My Dog Eastbourne, Wednesday 15 November 2pm-3pm, meet outside Queenwood library before 2pm.
- Walk My Dog Falmer, Friday 17 November 2pm-3pm, meet outside Checkland before 2pm.
Financial wellbeing
Student Advice Service – financial wellbeing stand, Friday 17 November 12-2pm Moulsecoomb, outside Aldrich library
Spiritual wellbeing
Silent space Falmer, Falmer Library, Room 201, Wednesday 15 November 12-1pm.
Our Faith and Spirituality team offers pastoral support to all students, you can arrange an in person meet up with them or contact them via email FaithandSpirituality@brighton.ac.uk
Wellbeing Champions programme
Wellbeing Champions is our online training course open to all students who want to learn more about building and maintaining their own wellbeing. You will also learn strategies for supporting your friends and loved ones with their mental health and gain an understanding of the best ways to communicate with and support those around you.
