SOLID is a growing group of researchers and others at (or connected to) the School of Sport and Health Sciences at University of Brighton.
We are passionate about supporting people with learning/ intellectual disabilities to have good lives and are particularly interested in people’s occupational lives, what they do, how they spend their time and how meaningful engagement in occupation and activity can be supported.
Most of us are occupational therapists and occupational therapy lecturers, researchers and students, though we are keen to collaborate with anyone who shares our passion, including of course people with intellectual disabilities and their families. We hope this blog will evolve dynamically to allow us to network and keep abreast of contemporary news and issues related to people's engagement in occupation.
