Everything

This post is part of EdublogsClub. This week’s prompt is my favourite tools.

A few weeks ago I saw this tweet from edublogs

My answer is #poundlandpedagogy. I discovered this hashtag when I was volunteering in Brighton Museum and became curious. I found an article about Poundland Pedagogy on hertsforlearning.co.uk. It turned out that I was already doing Poundland Pedagogy using found objects and charity shop purchases. In my Brighton Museum role I was creating learning games to be used in the school workshops. I made a dress your own wooden spoon doll exercise using cheap wooden spoons and fabric remnants from my university. I won a voucher after nominating a colleague for student employer of the year so I used that for buying an mp3 of rain/storm sound effects and speaker for a campfire activity.

I’m frequently doing stuff like this…

I thought I’d share a photo of some of the things I have collected from budget stores, charity/thrift stores alongside my Chromebook and stationery. I made the lightbox on the left from a broken storage box, tracing paper and discarded Easter fairy lights. I’m very happy with my The Thinker Game, 642 Tiny Things To Write About and Make Your Own Movies kit – I got them all from charity shops.

My favourite tools are everything.
