Nepal Covid update

Covid-19 has now reached the community of Malagiri – heavy rains alongside the lockdown has led to food shortages for some of the families in the community.

Travel between villages and towns is not currently allowed however we understand a Nepali NGO has been permitted to take some basic emergency relief to the community. We hope to learn more about what else is needed in the village on their return to Kathmandu.

At this difficult time, we would like to appeal to our supporters and friends for any additional support they may be able to give. Anything you are able to contribute will be quickly put to use.

You can make a one-off donation or sign up for regular giving on the Malagiri Springboard site. If you are a UK Taxpayer you may be able to Gift Aid your donation increasing it by 25% at no extra cost to you.

Regular Malagiri supporter and fundraiser, Lorraine, raised another £43 in June. She walked just over 230km – donating £1 for each one walked. Inspired by her challenge a friend also donated £20.

Lorraine said: “Last month saw some amazing weather that enabled me to witness the countryside bursting with colour.

“My favourite walk this month was a jaunt along the seafront on an incredibly still afternoon. I can honestly say that I have never seen the sea looking so mirror-like.”

Thank you Lorraine for continuing with your walking challenge.
