The artwork, Fusion de plaque, was created over a 5 months period. I used organic materials and pistachio nut shells to create household objects associated with dining. The aim for this work is to encourage curiosity and to invite audiences to inspect each element on the wooden plate and see that the components are from a range of varied cultural backgrounds. The work celebrates the beauty of wood as a material and uses hand carving to create the work.
Through the work I aim to create a plate that fuses together cultural references from a variety of backgrounds.
