Investment and Trading Society
The University of Brighton’s Investment & Trading Society is a student-led organization dedicated to empowering members with the knowledge, skills, and opportunities to excel in the world of finance and investing.
They host workshops, speaker events, trading simulations, and networking opportunities, fostering a collaborative environment for students passionate about financial markets, investment strategies, and professional growth.
Open to all levels of experience, they aim to bridge the gap between academic theory and real-world financial practice.
Meet the team
Lily Bowers and Yavor Yanvev are responsible for organising regular events, engaging with industry professionals, supporting members’ learning, and ensuring the society’s growth and compliance.
Lily Bowers
“I’m the President of the Investment and Trading Society. I joined the society because I wanted to create a space where students could develop real-world investment skills, gain insights from industry professionals, and build a strong network. Finance is a competitive industry, and I saw this as an opportunity to give students an edge when entering the job market.”
Yavor Yanev
“I became the Vice President of Finance last year as the society wasn’t very active, and I wanted to change that. I wanted to apply my knowledge of finance and investments in a practical setting while also engaging with like-minded individuals.”
