Schools Size and Shape
Members will have seen the messages about School size and shape and review of academic administration and associated discussion documents. These sit alongside reviews of Estates, Facilities and Managed Halls and of Information Technology, and all, to different degrees, have a potential impact on our work as academic staff in the University.
UCU has already sought and received assurances that the school size and shape reorganisation is not intended to reduce the numbers of subjects taught. UCU has also voiced grave concerns over the potential implications of changes to administration and in particular school-based administration on lecturer workloads.
It is important that in our discussions with Management over these proposals we are informed by the views of members and we will therefore be organising branch meetings to hear members questions and concerns. In the meantime, please do feel free to contact your branch officers with any questions or comments.
