News and events for University of Brighton students

IDAHoBiT

The International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia (IDAHoBiT) takes place on Wednesday 17 May 2017. This significant date commemorates the day in 1990 when the World Health Organisation removed homosexuality from its list of mental health conditions.

To mark IDAHoBiT within the University of Brighton and wider community, several events will be taking place:

  • The Centre of Sport, Tourism and Leisure Studies will be holding an open seminar on 17 May discussing LGBTQ+ inclusion in university based sport. All students and staff are welcome to come along. Please contact D.Green3@brighton.ac.uk to find out if there any spaces available.
  • The annual IDAHoBiT vigil in Brighton, organised by the local Brighton and Hove LGBT Community Safety Forum, will be held at New Steine Gardens on Wednesday 17 May, 6pm-7pm.
