Global Opportunities Film Fundraiser
Come to a documentary screening to help support the Global Opportunities Scholarship Fund.
The Alumni team will be screening a short series of documentaries to raise awareness of the ongoing crisis facing our refugee and asylum seeker communities.
Exploring the experiences of asylum seekers’ journey from home to safety, the documentaries reiterate the need for a safe place within the UK and our University community.
Refreshments will be provided by anti-food waste pioneers, Real Junk Food Project, and there will be an opportunity for discussion in a friendly environment after the screening.
The event is free, although we are suggesting a donation of £5.27 as this is the current daily allowance allocated to asylum seekers in the UK. Donations will be directed to the University of Brighton’s Global Opportunities Scholarship Fund, providing educational opportunities to help support those facing the most difficult of circumstances.
