World Mental Health Day 10th October 2018

World Mental Health Day 2018According to the mental health charity Mind, mental health problems can affect anyone, any day of the year, but today is a great day to show your support for better mental health and start looking after your own wellbeing.

For Moulsecoomb students

Visit our stands for information about how we can help support your mental health. Stands are staffed by your Student Support and Guidance Tutors (SSGTs), coaches from our student peer-to-peer mental health programme Mood Boost, and members of our Disability and Dyslexia team. Help yourself to some fresh fruit too.
Where: Mithras and Cockcroft cafes
When: between 10am and 12noon

Walk my dog
Join us for our popular ‘Walk my dog’ event. This is your chance meet some joyful fury friends and connect with other students and support staff during a walk in the beautiful nearby countryside.
Where: Meet at 1.50pm outside the Manor House ready for a walk at 2pm. We will be walking for less than 1 hour.

For Falmer students

Visit our stand for tea, a talk and some cake. The stand will be staffed by your Student Support and Guidance Tutors (SSGTs) who will be encouraging you to share your ideas on our wellbeing tree. Sport Brighton will be there with their hook a duck game, as will students from the Nursing Society and library staff.
Where: Checkland Atrium
When: between 10am and 12noon

Fitness challenge
Join Sport Brighton and support staff from Student Services for a fitness challenge.
Where: Falmer Sports Centre
When: between 1pm and 3pm

For Eastbourne students

Mindful Eating study
Consider participating in an Eating Study to investigate how food makes you feel in your everyday life. You will be asked to taste some foods, assess how mindful you are in your eating, and learn some practical skills on how to be more mindful of how you feel when you eat.
Where: Sprinters cafe
When: 10am to 11am
