University Mental Health Day – free wellbeing events 11-15 March

To mark University Mental Health Day on 14 March, we have a range of fun events and activities coming up next week, designed to boost your wellbeing in a variety of ways!

Your mental health and wellbeing is always our priority, all year around our expert teams are here for you – whatever the situation. We also have a range of self-help resources, with guides written by our specialist teams, along with our module on protecting and strengthening your own wellbeing and that of others.

You can also find details of helpful external support services, including Togetherall – your free 24/7 online support network.

Events:

Sport Brighton accessible sport and health week – Monday 11 March to Friday 15 March:

Sport Brighton is running an accessible sport and health week with a range of free activities, from walking football to yoga for stress relief. There will also be times when students can use facilities and equipment for free – no need to book, just turn up. Find out more about what’s on and when on the Sport Brighton website.

colourful paint splatter Thursday 14 March: Brighton Student Union Arts and Crafts – 4pm-5pm at the VenueJoin the SU for a truly well deserved Arts and Crafts wellbeing activity for anyone who feels they need it as well as our elections candidates.

Thursday 14 March: Have a go at print making, 12-2pm Checkland Atrium, Falmer Campus
Community Social. 
This free dropin session will introduce you to the basics of printmaking. Snacks will be available. Email campuscommunitysocials@brighton.ac.uk with any questions.

promotion of SHOUT, you in coatThursday 14 March: 11am-12pm, Cockcroft reception area – Introduction to the SHOUT Mental Health Text Service. The Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust will be sharing information about the SHOUT Mental Health Text Service, a free, confidential 24-hour text support service for people who are struggling with their mental health. If you would like to speak to someone, just text ‘SUSSEX’ to 85258. The service is anonymous and will not show up on your bill.

Walk My Dog – Friday 15 March students dog walking in field

Take a break from your studies and come along to one of our Walk My Dog events. Just bring yourself, we will bring the dogs, and, you can take the lead on a countryside walk just minutes from your campus.

Moulsecoomb 12-1pm, meet at Manor House Lawns at 12noon, find the Manor House on our maps.

Falmer 2pm-3pm, meet outside Checkland Building at 2pm.
