Train strikes 7 & 9 November – car parking and alternative travel arrangements to help
UPDATE 4:15pm, 4 November 2022: Rail strikes have since been called off. See the RMT website for details.
Students and staff affected by the RMT rail strike on Monday 7 November and Wednesday 9 November, who do not have an E-Permit to park on campus, may apply for a temporary E-Permit valid for these two days only.
All parking restrictions apply to temporary E-Permit holders, including the requirement of staff to pay the £2 daily parking charge. Parking for students is free.
However, please note that parking spaces are limited on campus and being allocated an E-Permit does not guarantee that a parking space will be available on any specific day. Parking at our Falmer campus experiences particularly high demand. E-Permit holders can park at any University car park and travel to the campus by other means; for example, parking at the Moulsecoomb Parking Facility and catching a public bus (which run approximately every six minutes along the Lewes Road), or the UB1 during term time, to Falmer.
If you require a temporary E-Permit please email centralparking@brighton.ac.uk to apply.
Please be aware that car parking and permit enforcement is now in place (2022/23)
