The university’s term time, weekday free shuttle bus service, UB1, links all of our Brighton campuses and Varley Halls.
The UB1 service operates a circular route from Varley Park to Old Steine. The low emission bus is fully-accessible with free on-board Wi-Fi and phone charging points.
2022/23 timetable
The 2022/23 service commences Monday 26 September at Varley Park, operating to the below timetable. View the location of the UB1 bus stops on the UB1 google map. Please note the UB1 uses Stop S at the Old Steine, which is opposite the YHA Brighton Hostel.
The bus operates during term time only, during the following periods for 22/23:
- 26 September – 16 December 2022
- 9 January – 31 March 2023
- 24 April – 9 June 2023

Bus tracking app & Twitter updates
Track the live location of the UB1 bus through the Brighton Uni Bus tracking app available for download from Google Play or the App Store. Search ‘Brighton Uni Bus’ and after installation, use your Unicard number (found on the front of your Unicard) without hyphens as the access code.
Follow the UB1 Twitter Feed https://twitter.com/BrightonUniBus for service updates such as cancellations delays accidents or changes to the service – but please note this is not a live feed.
