The UB1 service operates a circular route from the Falmer campus to Old Steine, taking in Varley Halls, Moulsecoomb campus and The Level. The low emission bus is fully-accessible with free on-board Wi-Fi and phone charging points.
The service for 2020/21 will commence on 21 September.
To allow for social distancing the bus will have capacity for 22 people. Users are also required legally to wear a face covering and should follow the Government advice on safe travel, maintaining social distancing and washing or sanitising your hands regularly: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-safer-travel-guidance-for-passengers.
Bus tracking app
You will be able to track the UB1 bus through the Brighton Uni Bus tracking app which is available for download from Google Play or the App Store. Search for ‘Brighton uni bus’ and after installation, use your Unicard number (found on the front of your Unicard) without hyphens as the access code. The app provides real-time locations of the UB1 as well as onward journey information including train times and live updates from the Twitter feed.
Follow the UB1 Twitter Feed https://twitter.com/BrightonUniBus for service updates such as delays due to traffic, accident or weather – but please note this is not a live feed.
Please note the UB1 uses Stop S at the Old Steine, which is opposite the YHA Brighton Hostel. See this on Google Maps.
