What is mentoring and how can it help you?

Mentoring at the University of Brighton is a shared and mutually beneficial experience.

Our teams of professional mentors volunteer their time to work with you to support you during your time at the university.

Having a mentor can help you:

  • Build confidence
  • Set and achieve your goals and targets
  • Aid your progression and career choices
  • Develop skills such as organisation and time management

Mentors and students aim to meet every 2 weeks over a 4 to 6 month period.

You can connect remotely with your mentor using tools such as Facetime, MS Teams, Zoom, Skype or WhatsApp.

You can also email us at Momentum@brighton.ac.uk

If you need more substantial help with issues such as stress, wellbeing or difficulties with your course, please notify your Student Support Guidance Tutors (SSGTs). They will be able to either advise you or direct you to specialist services across the university.

Find out more information about how to contact your SSGT now.
