Get careers advice and plan for your future

Welcome to the University of Brighton from the Careers and Employability Team!

We are here to support you from your first day at the university, throughout your degree, and after you graduate. It is never too early to start planning for your future career and we want to ensure that you make the most of the opportunities available to you at university.

“I didn’t really know what I wanted to do after uni, so I booked a meeting with Careers. They helped me figure out the specifics of what I’m interested in and get clear on my path…” George Robinson, Student

Not sure what you can do with your degree?

At any point, during your time at university, you can request a one-to-one meeting with a member of the team.  As well as practical advice, we can offer guidance to help you identify your own career preferences, determine which jobs are a good fit for you, and help you to identify the skills you will need.

We can discuss what career options are right for you and help you to find out about routes into specific careers.

We will encourage you to become your ‘own expert’ in order to make career decisions that are right for you. We can also show you the best ways to build your skills and experience, starting from your first year at university.

As you progress into your second and third years we also offer advice and guidance on:

  • Finding internships and graduate job opportunities
  • Applying for postgraduate study
  • Presenting your skills to employers in applications and interviews.

Or to make an appointment with a Career Development Adviser or Employment Adviser, please contact the Careers Helpdesk on 01273 642855 or email us.

We look forward to speaking with you soon!
