Important message for Apple users
There has recently been an eduroam (university wireless connection) update, which may affect connections on Apple devices.
To avoid disruption to your wireless connection it is essential that users of Apple devices check the status of their connection and update their settings if necessary.
How will I know if I need to do this?
- On a Mac – go to the Apple menu > System Preferences > Profiles
- On an iPad, go to Settings > General
- If the eduroam connection is listed as ‘Unverified’ you will need to update your eduroam settings by 4 March 2016
How do you do this?
- The download tool for Macs in available here
- The download tool for iPad/iPhone users is available here
Guidance on using the tools is available on each page
When you open the set-up tool, it will ask you to enter your eduroam username and password.
Your eduroam username is in the form abc1@brighton.ac.uk where abc1 is your normal university username.
What about Windows computers?
This change should not affect Windows users.
