Chai tea at Captain Webb
Captain Webb is a café that shares a premises with Scissorbox. Last autumn I watched the progress of the renovation with interest, because the interior design looked superb. I’m a fan of any place with lots of industrial looking items and lightbulbs.
I’ve been in a handful of times and the chai tea is my favourite. Today I visited the café, hung out with an adorable puppy called Ralph and ordered a drink. The owner/manager brought over my chai tea but it looked fancy. It looked like he had frothed up the soya milk and he told me he added a dash of a spice syrup. Honestly, I live for trying new teas and this was lovely. It reminded me of a spiced white chocolate, although not very sweet. I can’t wait to go back.
They also do waffles. Which I highly recommend.
