I have been testing the boundaries of legibility through building layers of text. Legibility is important to me as I’m interested in creating a space of impermanence – where text may be read differently each time. The natural qualities of the fabric have allowed me to further explore and show this conversation, provoking me to play with the extent to which I can relinquish control. Fabric naturally creases, folds, and rips and I love how it allows me to get close and shape the print further. I have become intrigued with exploring this through the processes of patching, tearing and folding.
