Final Major Project: Event Cancelled

After speaking with the brands, it has been no easy decision to postpone releasing the promotion and cancelling the event. With the store closed, it would not be possible to put on the event.

This means that my project will still go in the direction towards creating the promotional material and planning the event but it will not happen. Hopefully in the near future Family Store will allow me to run the event.

This has been a major set back in my project however it is no ones fault and I just have to work on the promotional material until the time comes!

Final Major Project: Better Pictures

I am really happy that I was able to re do some of my images before the country went into complete lockdown. These had to be really quick, but it meant that I had something to work with stuck indoors!

Firstly, Meg was able to do the shoot after all, which meant that I was able to stick closer to plan. After learning from my mistakes in the other shoot, I change location and styling a bit more and also had some photography assistance from Caterina so that I was able to focus on the model and styling more. I think this collaboration has made the images stronger as it is not so overwhelming doing a shoot. I also was glad that I got to focus on the styling as I feel that without it, the images wouldve been weak.

Secondly, some remaining models in Brighton (they didn’t need to be professional models as it wasn’t meant to be that way) were able to help me to take some polaroids for the family store event, Family Photo. I chose to do this  on polaroid as it made it fun, and for the actual event I was to use a polaroid. I really like these images as they are fun and fulfil the purpose and also make the customer feel like they can get involved. The polaroids also have a hashtag at the bottom, for social media but they will also be on the actual polaroids as stickers so that when customers get a polaroids they can share it with the family store socials.

Final Major Project: Rescheduling, Cancelling and Not Working Out

This was a predicable set back for my project as it has happened to me everytime! However I have learnt how to overcome this easily. Two of my models cancelled shoots with me, my first Lucy had to self isolate because of the coronavirus. This was unfortunate as I had already taken her for a fitting of the Ruby Moon Clothes and booked them out for her, and I could not find another model to fit the clothes.

Secondly, Meg my model cancelled on me because she had to move her art out of university the day of her shoot. I asked her to reschedule but this was still up in the air therefore I thought it would be simpler to ask another model to take her place. This shoot was planned to be urban, with the Ruby Moon clothes used as normal clothes rather than gymwear to show their versatility. Last minute, the only model I could get was a friend who has done some modelling for me before.

I really wasn’t happy with the outcome of these photos, therefore rather than compromise my work for the sake of a faster shoot, I have asked meg if she could do next week to retry again.

Final Major Project: Family Store Shoot

Whilst creating my event I planned to do one whole shoot with two models as well as get some product shots. This was because I needed to start promoting the event straight away.

However I wasn’t as happy with my images being used for the event. I got some really good product shots that can be edited and used however the photos of my models just looked really boring and not like a fun photoshoot which is what I was trying to achieve.

After editing, I added bright coloured backgrounds and upped the contrast so it was bright and interesting. this worked really well with the product shots but not the models. Therefore I need to redo the event photography asap.
