For my final major project, I want to explore more on the idea of editorial narratives and the beauty of an advert. By creating a magazine filled with adverts, I can adopt skills from visual promotion, photography and styling as well as imaging to create this. I can also focus on the purpose of promoting brands from around Brighton, or student brands. The overall purpose I want to convey is how to successfully advertise brands and products.

Before I looked at creating my own narratives I wanted to reflect on colour theory using images and creating aesthetically pleasing ads from them.

I really like the green ad on the left as it ties in lots of different shades of green together and is minimalist, reflecting on my WGSN research. I really like the style of sticking to one colour scheme and I think I will research this further and do a shoot to do with it.

Although the text implies that they are adverts (I used common sayings from adverts i found out and about and wrote them down) the images make them look more like fashion photography which really shows the power of the image and how it can change the tone in an advert.
